We will pay the person who is allowed to sell the stuff. Who is allowed to sell. Inherited metal. We are not a probate court.

We can make two trays. We can count ounces. We can write two numbers. We can sometimes write two checks if the papers allow it.
We will not decide who “deserves” dad’s 1921 Morgan. We will not hold one sibling’s coins hostage while the other one thinks. Photograph the lot before anyone leaves with a handful. Don’t clean. Sort first.
What blows the visit up

If the pile is large and the papers are messy, come back with one speaker and cleaner papers. That delay is cheaper than a lawsuit. Call ahead. Bank box day.
If a lawyer wants a number
That is a written appraisal, not a cash bid. Different paper. Different fee. Appraisal vs cash bid. Do not ask us to put a Saturday offer on letterhead for a court and also cash you out in the same breath.
Walk away if the family is not ready. The metal will still be metal on Tuesday.
