Government bullion vs generic rounds: why the stamp on the coin matters
An Eagle and a private-mint round can be the same ounce. They do not get the same bid. Recognition is the product.

A Maple or an Eagle is recognized in every shop that is actually a shop. A generic round with a wolf and a website on the reverse is still silver. It just takes a little more argument.

When generics are fine
You wanted cheap ounces and you already understand you will give some premium back. Fine. Keep the invoices. Do not expect Eagle money.
Colorized, plated, privy novelties
Pretty. Often a retail product, not a stacker. Novelty coins.
