Kids, coffee cans, and the first collection that should stay fun
Let them keep a few. Do not tell them every wheat is a fortune. A shop can help sort without killing the hobby.
A kid with a can of pennies is how this trade gets another generation.
What kills it: an adult promising them a car because of a 1982 zinc, or a shop sneering them out the door.
A decent visit
Pull the wheats. Show a key-date list. Wheat keys. Sell the melt if there is melt. Let them keep a handful they like. Kids and stacking.
Old is not rare. Don’t clean — kids love toothpaste.
If the can is actually grandpa’s eagles, that is not a kid project. That is an estate with a child in the room. Be the adult.
